Rajasthan govt provide free of cost travel to senior citizens
Good news coming from Rajasthan as the Ashok Gehlot government has planned free of cost travel for the senior citizen. Yes, you heard right! As the government has decided to fly its senior citizen free of cost to three pilgrimage destinations, including Pushpatinath Temple in Nepal. And the two other destination will be Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and Kolkata (West-Bengal).
While announcing the details of free religious tours for senior citizens during 2019-2020 tourism and Devasthan minister Vishvendra Singh said that this year the number of circuits has been increased up to nine. And we are hoping that it will be increased by implementing this type of schemes.
Moreover, in the air travel category, following destination has included, Dehradun-Haridwar-Rishikesh, Gangasagar-Dakshineswar Kali temple-Belur Math-Kolkata and Pashupatinath-Nepal, a total number of circuits to nine.
And for the train tours, two circuits such as Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti (Ajmer Dargah), Nizamuddin Auliya (Delhi)-tomb of Salim Chishti (Fatehpur Sikri) and Goverdhan-Barsana-Vrindavan have been included.
More details: Under the scheme, almost 10,000 (5000 each for train and air travel) pilgrims will be providing free travel and accommodation by Devasthan department. Meanwhile, 5% seat has been reserved for journalist in both categories.
From July 5, the senior citizen pilgrimage scheme will be effective and application for the same will be process done through online.
