Historic Jogulamba temple soon to be tourist place
To all devotee of goddess Jogulamba, around the corner of the world will be happy as Jogulamba temple, renowned for being the 8th Shakthi Peetham in India will soon turn into a tourist hotspot. As the state government is planning to develop this site into a leading heritage hub, to attract more tourist and pilgrims. In addition, bathing ghats for tourist will also be set up at Sanghmeshara.
Jogulamba Alampur temple is a historical and heritage structure which is attracting large number of pilgrims from across the globe. Not just from India, even foreigner are coming here to view this beautiful heritage and this popular temple. As the popular temple stands as a testimony to Chalukya Art and Culture.
Goddess Jogulamba is considered the 5th Shakti Peeta among 18 shakti peetams in the country. Were the goddess Jogulamba is seen seated on the Corpse with scorpion, frog and lizard on the head. She is in a naked avatar with her tongue stretched outside, an avatar of fierce goddess that grants Siddhi in yoga and this way she is called Jogulamba.
It is also known as Dakshina Kailasamm, as the Tungabhadra and Krishna are seen in a confluence near Alampur. Alampur is a small town situated on the banks of Tungabhadra river, in Telangana. Even it is considered as the western gateway of Srisailam.
