New party boat likely for Sukhna Lake soon at Chandigarh

As per latest reports, Chandigarh is set to get a new party venue soon for Sukhna Lake. Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO) is planning to introduce a new 80-seater battery/solar operated party boat at the lake.

CITCO Managing Director, Jasvinder Kaur said that a new luxury cruise will be launched within three to four months, for which, a tender would be floated soon, referred to this development. Apart from this, the CITCO is also planning to purchase four new shikaras (houseboats) from Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports received the CITCO management has already written to the authorities of J&K seeking permission to purchase and transport these houseboats.

The Chief General Manager of CITCO said that such a luxury party boat will be operating on Sukhna Lake first time, with an expectation of boosting the city’s tourism. The fares are expected to be normal but nothing has been finalized so far.

Referred to this tourism expansion a senior CITCO official, said that a brand new party boat with terrace, will be provided by the agency in charge. The boat will be eco-friendly with well-equipped lighting arrangement for operations during night. The said agency will be responsible to maintain the boat in running condition all the times.

As per reports stated, the boat can be used for organizing small party and other opportunities, for which the agency will be fixing an amount for one/two hours. The CITCO officials will take care of arrangements as well as supply of eatables also and timing for ferrying party boat will be fixed by the Lakewiew authorities.
